VidMate hosts no videos; it fetches files from the original platform when a visitor asks. We still take infringement seriously and will stop our tool from processing specific posts on request.
Option 1: report the original post
Removing the post from the platform it was published on (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and so on) stops it everywhere, including on VidMate. Each platform has a copyright form for this.
Option 2: ask VidMate to block a post
Email [email protected] with:
- your name, address, phone and email;
- the work you own;
- the post link(s) on the platform you want blocked;
- a good-faith statement that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or act for the owner;
- your signature (typed name is fine).
Our response
- We acknowledge your notice within 3 working days.
- Valid notices: the links go on our block list, and VidMate refuses to process them.
- We confirm by email once it is done.
Counter-notice
If a link was blocked in error, send the blocked link, your contact details and a statement under penalty of perjury that the block was a mistake. Unless the complainant tells us within 10 working days that they have gone to court, we may unblock it.
Repeat infringers
Addresses that repeatedly use VidMate to infringe copyright may be blocked.
