How the watermark-free copy works
When you save a video inside the TikTok app, TikTok creates a new file with its logo and the creator’s username bouncing around the frame. That file is made on your phone. On TikTok’s servers there is also the original upload, without any logo, which is the copy the TikTok player streams.

The H.265 file looks noticeably cleaner in dark scenes and fast motion. All iPhones since iOS 11 and Android phones from 2017 onward play it. Some older Windows laptops show only audio; install Microsoft’s HEVC Video Extensions or use VLC, or simply take the normal H.264 file.
